The book group reading list for 2016 has been published on the Subgroups page. At our meeting in January we enjoyed drinks and a finger buffet and also discussed suggestions for books we could read this year. With everyone contributing their ideas, it means we have a wide range of books to enjoy. If anyone is interested in joining us, please contact Linda Welsh.

Book Group
The January meeting of the book group was very successful. Despite lots of nibbles, Prosecco and chatting, we managed to choose our books for 2015. It is a very interesting and varied list of subjects and authors. We all agreed that as well as being great fun, the book group has widened our reading experience.
To Kill a Mockingbird
We all enjoyed reading/re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird and the discussion at our last meeting was lively. What a bonus that the play was on at Woking theatre in October – an excellent production.
The Light Between Oceans
Apologies, Sylvie, I should have put the author! The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman.
The Light Between Oceans
There was lots of discussion about this very interesting book at yesterday’s meeting. Powerful moral themes, intense relationships and lots more – certainly a ‘good read’ although you do need tissues at times! Our next book is Sense and Sensibility by Joanna Trollope – a modern take on Jane Austin.
Book group
We always like a chat so it was good to meet up over wine and nibbles on Wednesday. We also found the time to choose our reading for 2014! If you want to find out more the list is on the subgroups page.
The Book Thief
An interesting and unusual book which we all enjoyed. Thank you Debbie for hosting us so well – delicious chocolate cake. Drinks and nibbles on 8 Jan – and a new book!
