Book Group 1

We meet in members homes every 5 or 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 pm. We are an informal group and enjoy reading new books and discussing them with friends.

Book Group 2

We are a small and friendly group who meet on a regular basis to discuss the books that we have read.  We enjoy reading an eclectic mix of genres and try to vary our topics to suit all different tastes.

Walking Group

Walks are approximately 4.5 to 5 miles long and take about 2½ hours.  After the walk some of us have lunch in a nearby pub or café.

24 May (one week earlier because of bank holiday)  Tilford Circular
Meet 10:00  at The Barley Mow, on the green at Tilford, GU10 2BU  Parking: Small car park or road side next to the green. Alternative car park follow Tilford road, passing the school and church on the right, car park is about  50 m further on the left.   This is a circular walk from from Tilford via river, farmland, golf course and woodland paths.  A moderate walk of 4.5 miles, taking approximately 2 hours. The small shop in Tilford sells teas and coffees. The Barley Mow pub will be serving lunches but tables will need to be booked.
28 June  Bagshot Heath
Meet 10:00am at the junction of Vicarage Road, Church Road and College Ride (near St Anne’s Church, Post Code GU19 5EQ)  Parking on College Ride. Approximately 4.5 miles, duration 2 hours, woodland paths. Good underfoot but may be slippery if wet.
20 July  Odiham Circular 
Meet 10:00 Canal car park, Colt Hill, Odiham, RG29 1AL. Approximately 5.5 miles (can be shortened if required) duration 2.5 hours, woodland, river paths and canal path. Good underfoot but may be slippery if wet.
AUGUST NO WALK
23 September Pirbright Circular
Meet 10:00am Pirbright village car park. GU24 0JE Do not park in the Memorial Hall car park.  Approximately 4.5 miles duration 2.0 hours, woodland, farmland paths. Good underfoot but may be slippery if wet.
28 October  West End
Meet 10:00am Hare and Hounds car park in West End  GU24 9QG Approximately 4.5 miles, duration 2 hours, It is typical heath land so at times uneven underfoot with tree roots. It can be very boggy in a couple of places especially after rain. There is one short, moderate incline near the beginning of the walk and one low stile.
24 November  Puttenham Circular
Meet 10:00am small parking area just before Puttenham turn of on B3000 (link road A31 to A3). Approximately 4.5 miles, duration 2 hours, woodland, farmland pathways. Good under foot but may be slippery if wet.

There is a café at the Watts gallery for coffee and cake or lunch if anyone wishes. 

If you are interested to stay and visit the Watts gallery there is a cost of £12:50, see website for details https://www.wattsgallery.org.uk/whats-on/ The return walk to Puttenham from here follows the North Downs way and takes approximately 30/40 minutes.  Please contact June if you are going to walk.

DECEMBER   NO WALK

Coffee and Chat

Meetings are on alternate Mondays at 10.30 am at Frankie and Benny’s in Camberley. It’s not a formal group so anyone who fancies a drink and chat just turns up. It’s a very sociable and relaxing start to the week.

Knitting, Crochet and Quilting Group  

We are a small, friendly group that meets at 7.00 pm on the Thursday evening following the WI meeting. Whether you are a beginner, improver or expert you are welcome to join us.

Gourmet Gossipers Supper Group

We meet every 5 or 6 weeks Thursday evenings and have eaten in a variety of local restaurants. It’s a treat not to do the cooking and to enjoy tasty food and a chat with friends.

Sewing Bee

This group meets on Friday afternoons between 2 pm and 4 pm.  All abilities are welcome.

Visits

Since starting the visits in October 2013 we have been to the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea Pensioners, the Christmas Markets in Winchester, Bath and Salisbury, the Poppy Factory in Richmond, Wimbledon grounds and museum, the Veolia Recycling Centre in Alton, behind the scenes at the Royal Opera House, Bletchley Park, a variety of walks in London,  the Bombay Sapphire Distillery and to see the Christmas lights at Kew and Blenheim.
